Creating customer-specific documents

Documents that are required for a specific order must be derived from the configuration of a machine or installation.

A collection of defined, tested and proven functions (mechatronic components) form the foundation for configuration based on modular systems. Each component includes the required discipline-specific information (BOM data for mechanics, schematic components for circuit diagrams, software for the PLC program, etc.)

In a order, machines or systems are configured on the basis of modular components. The example shows a basic machine, which is extended by different features according to customer requirements to configure a custom assembly system.

From this central, interdisciplinary, mechatronic configuration (functional description), all project documents that are required for production and documentation are created order-specifically.

In contrast to conventional sequential processes the order-specific costs are dramatically reduced. This is made possible by investing in the development of modular systems; in other words, the development of modular systems must be financed with a view to potential savings on orders.
