With the level configuration you can predefine hierarchies of mechatronic components. With the modular system development you can predefine the positions where the project engineer may insert further components. To this purpose a placeholder instead of a component is installed.

To create a placeholder:

1. In the Components area click .

2. Select the Placeholder object.

3. Optionally change the name of the placeholder.
4. In the Type field optionally select the type of the components that may be installed on this placeholder.
5. In the Multiplicity field enter the number of components which may be installed on this placeholder.
6. In the Disabled field optionally enter a formula to deactivate the placeholder under specific conditions.
7. Save with [Ctrl] + [S] or .
