The even distribution of the power dissipation within an air-conditioning field (enclosure) is particularly important for the thermal design of switch gears. The power dissipation center in the air-conditioning field can be determined in order to avoid unequal distribution of the power dissipation and thus the formation of hot spots. In the process the air-conditioning field is divided virtually into an upper and lower half and a calculation is carried out in which half a significantly higher power dissipation (>= 25%) exists.
As a result of this test the layout of the affected part placements should be changed so that the power dissipation is distributed evenly in the complete air-conditioning field so that reliable air-conditioning is possible. A further possibility is the insertion of accessories for air guidance at the climate control component.
Preconditions:
- You have opened a project.
- The layout space navigator is open and a layout space is open.
- A value was assigned for the Thermal design: Simultaneity factor property in the project properties.
- A value was assigned for the Thermal design: Device power dissipation property to the parts.
- The part placements have been assigned to an air-conditioning field.
- Mark the air-conditioning field (enclosure) to be checked.
- Select the menu item Project data > Messages > Check project.
- Carry out a check run with the "Pro Panel" check run scheme.
If an unequal distribution of the power dissipation was found in the checked air-conditioning field, this is displayed in the result of the check run "026099". - Change the layout of the part placements by moving, so that the field reported as a power dissipation center is relieved.
