Data Import of EPLAN PPE Projects: Hook-ups

In EPLAN PPE a hook-up is used for the graphical representation of a PCT loop element and of the accessories required for its mounting. In addition to graphical representation, a mounting-accessories list, that lists the materials to be used, can be created as a table view for this hook-up. These can, but do not have to, originate from the parts management.

During the data import of a PPE project, hook-ups are mapped as Assemblies, so that one assembly with parts is created in the project for each hook-up. In the process the hook-up number and the designation of the hook-up become the "Part number" and the "Designation 1" of the assembly. If a part exists in the parts management, it is embedded. If no part exists, a part is only created in the project with the data from the hook-up. If necessary, synchronization with the parts management can be carried out afterwards.

The hook-ups from PPE projects continue to exist as graphical pages. Property placements are replaced by fixed texts. The hook-up is thus frozen to the status of the data import. In order to link the data again with the hook-up, a report of the "Assembly/module overview" type either has to be created or be placed on an existing page.

Hook-ups in Parts Management

The "Hook-up" product group in the "Mechanics" generic product group is available in the parts management for the classification of the assemblies. This product group contains the product subgroups "General", "Undefined" and "Accessories". After a synchronization of parts these assemblies are classified in the product subgroup "Mechanics > Hook-up > General".

The individual parts of the assembly are also managed in the "Mechanics" generic product group below the "Component" record type. During part synchronization these parts have the "Hook-up" product group assigned, but are sorted into the "Accessories" product subgroup.

During the data import of PPE projects the possible item numbers and variants of the mounting accessories from the hook-ups are entered automatically into the two columns Item number and Supplementary text in the Assembly tab of the parts management.

Hook-ups at planning objects

In order to assign a hook-up (assembly) to a planning object, branch to the part selection in the Part tab and there select the desired assembly part.

After the data import of a PPE project the converted hook-ups are stored at the planning objects (sensors, actuators, etc.) as assembly parts in the Part tab. The assembly parts are classified automatically into the tenth part line.

Notes:

The Hook-up (ID 44056) property can also be used to a hook-up at the planning object. You can select the property for the display in the property table of the first tab. This property shows you the first assembly part from the "Hook-up" product group that is entered in the Part tab.
