Dialog Settings: User interface

In this dialog you define various settings for the user interface.

Overview of the main dialog elements:

Number of recently used projects:

The most recently opened projects are listed in the Project menu in the main menu. If you click a project name, then this project is opened without you having to use the Open menu item. In this field you define how many entries the project list is to contain. The number of entries is limited to ten.

Minimum width of tiles in preview:

In this field, you enter the width (in pixels) of the "tiles" to be displayed in the symbol selection and in the graphical preview of the page navigator. This width is also used as the minimum height, so that the tiles are as square as possible. The system determines the width of the field and uses the minimum width specified here to calculate how many tiles can be displayed next to each other.

Open most recent projects:

If this check box is selected, EPLAN automatically opens the most recent projects when it next starts up.

If the check box is deactivated, EPLAN will launch the next time the program is started, without a project being opened.

Open most recent page:

If this check box is selected, then the next time it is started, EPLAN automatically opens the most recent page in the graphical editor. This setting only functions when you have also selected the Open most recent project check box.

If this check box is deselected then EPLAN starts without opening the most recent page.

Manage graphical editors project-specifically:

If this check box is activated, a separate graphical editor / 3D view is used for each project, when you work simultaneously in several projects.

If the check box is deactivated, the currently opened page of a project is closed as soon as you change to a page in a different project.

Display identifying numbers:

If this check box is activated, the following identifying numbers are displayed:

If the check box is deactivated, the identifying numbers for properties, system messages, and representation type are not displayed.

Behind the name:

If the Display identifying numbers check box is activated, you can specify here whether the number should be shown after the actual property text or representation type. If the check box is selected, the property in the example above will be displayed as follows: "Function definition <20026>".

Reactivate suppressed messages:

In EPLAN, less important messages and dialogs can be suppressed. To do this, the relevant dialogs have a Do not show this dialog again check box. If you have suppressed dialogs then you can reactivate these dialogs here:

If this check box is selected, the suppression of dialogs is removed.

If the check box is deselected, then dialogs and messages that have been suppressed remain suppressed.

Color settings write-protected pages / layout spaces:

You can specify separate color settings for the graphical editor and the 3D view for write-protected pages / layout spaces by using the group box. This allows you to distinguish between such pages and layout spaces and editable pages and layout spaces.

Pages and / or layout spaces are write-protected if an automatic or manual change protection is set for them or when a project has been opened in the "read-only" mode.

Notes:

Scheme (2D):

Here, select the color scheme for write-protected pages / layout spaces for the graphical editor. The names of the color schemes specify the color of the screen background.

3D Shading - Background 1 (3D) / 3D Shading - Background 2 (3D):

Here you specify the background colors for the shading in the 3D view for write-protected pages / layout spaces: Through the [...] you open the dialog Color selection. Select the desired color there.
