Calculation of the Total Power Dissipation of Switch Gears

EPLAN Pro Panel provides a functionality that calculates the total power dissipation of a switch gear. The total power dissipation consists of the power dissipation of the devices and the power dissipation of the busbar systems. The results of this calculation can be transferred to programs for heating calculation (such as Rittal Therm), so that air-conditioning solutions can be defined (selection of a suitable cooling device).

The determined values are reference values and serve solely as an orientation for the planner when selecting a suitable air-conditioning solution for the intended concrete application.

The air-conditioning solution selected on the basis of the values determined for the total power dissipation must be examined by the manufacturer of the switchgear assembly (called the enclosure below) with regard to its suitability for the intended application - for example through suitable procedures and tests.

The correctness of the parts data on the power dissipation of the devices that are provided by the component manufacturer and / or stored by the user in EPLAN as well as the general conditions specified by the user are, in particular, significant for the design and dimensioning and can result in considerable deviations of the results for the total power dissipation.

For this reason EPLAN Software & Service does not accept any liability for the correctness of the determination of the total power loss and the resulting choice of the air-conditioning solution for the concrete application and is also not liable for any damage resulting from non-observance of this information.
