Routing Connections (Topology)

Routing generates routing connections between the topology functions that follow the real form of the connections and cables in the routing path network. If a topology function does not have any function connection points, these will be generated prior to the routing.

In addition to the routing track, the length of the connections is also determined. All information thus determined can be used as routing instructions or to control fabrication machines.

Preconditions:

  1. Determine the area for which you want to generate routing connections. To do so, select individual pages or a project in the page navigator or select an area in the multi-line schematic. As an alternative you can also select connections in the connections navigator or functions in one of the project data navigators.
  2. Select the menu items Project data > Topology > Route.

The most efficient routing track is calculated. The routing connections are displayed.

The routing connections are assigned to the properties Topology: Routing track, Connection: Length, Connection: Connection point length (source / target), Connection dimension (source / target) and Wire termination processing (source / target).

The cables are assigned the properties Topology: Routing track, Length (prefabricated) , Cables: Connection point length (source / target) and Cable / Conduit: Stripping length (Source / Target).

Tip:

If you want to know which cables or connections run through a routing path, select the routing path and select the Cables / Connections popup menu item. In the Cables / Connections dialog that then opens, the connections running through the routing path are listed. If a complete cable (i.e., all routing connections of the cable) runs through the routing path, the individual connections are not listed, but instead the DT of the cable is displayed.
