Summarized parts lists consider all parts used in the project, all parts at the part definition point and all part placements without associated parts. Identical parts are consolidated and listed in summary. Please note that parts with quantity = 0 are usually also output! To avoid this, use a filter.
Note:
Note the following for the output of multilingual properties:
Multilingual properties without a format are not combined.
If multilingual properties are output in a formatted manner, they are combined if they are output in a single language (this is the default setting). However, if for formatted multilingual properties the language setting All displayed languages is selected, they are not combined.
Preconditions:
- In parts management, you have stored acceptable values on the Prices / Other tab in the Quantity/packaging field.
- You have opened a form of the "Summarized parts list" type in the form editor (Utilities > Master data > Form > Open > [Open]).
- Insert > Placeholder text
- In the Properties (placeholder text) dialog click [...] in the Properties formatted / calculated field of the Placement tab.
- In the Format: Property dialog select the "Calculation" element from the Available format elements list and use the button (Move to the right) into the Selected format elements list.
- In the Format: Calculation dialog select the format elements shown in the following table from the Available format elements list one after the other, and use the button (Move to the right) to move them to the Selected format elements list:
Format element
Meaning
Placeholder text
Select the "Placeholder text" format element and in the subsequent dialog, select the "Part reference" element with the Total amount (number of units) property.
/
Select the "/" (divides) format element.
Placeholder text
Select the "Placeholder text" format element and in the subsequent dialog, select the "Parts" element and the Quantity/packaging property.
+
Select the "+" (adds) format element.
Number
Select the "Number" format element, and enter the value 0.4999. (It is necessary to enter this number, so that packaging quantities can be rounded up correctly.)
You use 7 lamps in the project. Every packaging contains 5 lamps. A "7/5" calculation gives 1.4; this value is rounded off, which would give a result of 1 packaging. This is incorrect. If, on the other hand, the calculation follows the "7/5+0.4999" pattern, you obtain a value of 1.8999, rounded up to 2, which provides the correct result.
- Make sure that the Decimal places field is set to the value 0, and that the Decimal places, variable check box is not selected.
- Confirm your entries.
The Property field of the Properties (placeholder text) dialog now contains the calculation formula, as displayed in the dialogs for creating the formula in the Preview and Symbol area.
