Export an XML template file

This functionality is only available to you in the EPLAN Platform.

For each element of a configurator you can export an XML template file. The template file contains all the configuration variables that you require in the Project Builder for the configuration of the element. If you fill the configuration variables in the XML template file with values, you can import them to the Project Builder for the configuration. This way the configuration process is clearly reduced.

Prerequisites

  • You have called up the Designer.
  • You have opened a library.

Export an XML template file

  1. Click Configurators in the navigation bar.
  2. Select a configurator in the selection area.
  3. Click Export.
  4. Enter the desired name and a storage location for the file to be exported.
  5. Click Save.
  6. The XML template file is exported.

Note

An XML template file contains comments on the variable names, variable types and selection values. This way you can immediately detect which values you can enter for a certain structure element. Each comment begins with <!-- and ends with -->.
