Education and training

The qualifications required of employees involved in sequential development processes essentially correspond to those of project engineers for mechatronic development processes. They must possess comprehensive (communicative) project management skills. Advanced qualifications are required if development tasks are to be covered by the same employees. A major challenge consists in the fact that employees whose work thus far has primarily been oriented towards processing orders must become developers of reusable components or shift to architectures that work on an interdisciplinary basis.

An essential skill that is frequently observed among successful developers is their consistent application of the principles of modularization, encapsulation, abstraction, etc. The results of their work are always based on recurring, tried and proven design patterns. In this context, experienced developers consistently confirm having learned a great deal from their mistakes about how to arrive at goods designs. However, this type of on the job training takes a lot of time and money.
