In the EPLAN Platform it is possible via a special interface to output wiring information to the fully automatic wire fabrication machine "Rittal - Wire Terminal WT". The software operating the machine logs the production of the wires. For the manufacturing process with EPLAN Smart Wiring it is necessary to transfer all data of the wires really produced with the machine to EPLAN Smart Wiring. For this purpose the machine software generates a file of the *.CSV type that must be added to the project currently open in EPLAN Smart Wiring. EPLAN Smart Wiring can detect the actual manufacturing status from this file and use it for corresponding sorting. In this CSV file, referred to as the "Wire Terminal" file in the application, further connection information such as source, target, color, cross-section, labeling, length, magazine number in the machine and position of the wire in the magazine of the machine are contained. By this means EPLAN Smart Wiring supplies information about which wire is contained in which magazine in which sequence.
Using the "Wire Terminal" interface
Preconditions
- You have access to the preset working directory.
- The administrator has made a project file available in the working directory or in one of the subdirectories, whose routing connections are prefabricated by the fully automatic wire fabrication machine Rittal Wire Terminal and are made available in the magazines of the machine.
- In addition you have access to a directory in which the administrator has made the required "Wire Terminal" file available as an CSV file.
- You have activated the Wire Terminal check box in the settings for the Installation mode.
Procedure
- Select the menu item Project > Open project.
- In the subsequent dialog navigate to the corresponding project directory.
- In the footer of the dialog activate the Load "Wire Terminal" file check box and select the project file.
- The project is opened.
- In the subsequent dialog select the directory and the "Wire Terminal" file of the type *.CSV.
- The additional connection information from the machine are downloaded.
- In the Result "Wire Terminal" import dialog save the displayed result of the added wires and magazines.
- In the Select layout space dialog select the desired layout space.
- The connection list of the selected layout space is opened.
- Instead of the BundlePresorting of routed wires prior to fabrication. Wires to be routed one by one or in parallel are combined in an organizational manner, and provided as labeled bundles for wiring purposes. column the Magazine column is shown in the connection list.
Notes
- The "Wire Terminal" file can be added subsequently via the menu items Project > Load "Wire Terminal" file, if this file has not yet be taken into consideration during the project selection.
-
It is possible to read multiple CSV files after another, if the project consists of multiple layout spaces, enclosures and mounting sites and only one manufacturing data job per unit is created in the machine software. The Wire Terminal software can process a maximum of 13 magazines per order.
