The following dialog elements are available:

Import

In this subnode, you will find the following dialog elements:

  • Tesselation quality: Determines the quality of imported objects for all parametric formats.
  • Invert gray-scale colors (DXF, DWG): Inverts gray-scale colors to their opposite color on the black-and-white scale. This can be useful when, e.g., exchanging data between CAD systems with a black background and systems with a white background.
  • Unit (WRL, STRL, ...): Determines the unit for importing VRML object files.
  • Preserve original model: If activated, it makes the imported 3D model exportable.
  • Default name for products: You can change the default name of imported products.
  • Recognize multi-body solids: If activated, multiple solids in one part are separated into individual sub-parts in the tree view (e.g. Solid:1, Solid:2).
  • Default name for solids: You can change the default name of imported solids.
  • Import surfaces: If activated, extra nodes are created for imported surfaces.
  • Default name for surfaces: You can change the default name of imported surfaces.
  • Import coordinate systems: If activated, coordinate systems are imported from Creo - Pro/E, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, and Autodesk Inventor formats.
  • Coordinate system size: Determines the size and the unit for importing coordinate systems.
  • Import planes: Imports auxiliary planes from the source file.

Export

In this subnode, you will find the following dialog elements:

  • Convert MTEXT colors to ACI (DXF): Since 2004, the DXF specification allows to define a full ARGB color scale for MTEXT objects. This can lead to compatibility problems with older DXF imports. When this checkbox is activated, EPLAN Harness proD will convert the colors to the older AutoCAD Color Index (ACI).
  • Invert gray-scale colors (DXF, DWG): Inverts gray-scale colors to their opposite color on the black-and-white scale. This can be useful when, e.g., exchanging data between CAD systems with a black background and systems with a white background.
  • Export paths as solid: Paths (such as wires, bundles...) are exported as one solid object.
  • Reference model geometry: Any given geometry is exported only once per export; duplicities are only referenced. This can lead to smaller export files. Some export file formats may cause issues when this checkbox is active. In case of issues, try deactivating it and exporting the data again.
  • 2D drawing file prefix: Determines a default file name prefix for exported 2D files.
  • 2D drawing file suffix: Determines a default file name suffix for exported 2D files.
  • JT file format: Determines which JT file format is to be used for exports. Choose from a list of supported JT file formats.
  • STEP file format: Determines which STEP file format is to be used for exports. Choose from a list of supported STEP file formats.
