Device List

The device list allows pre-planning of devices. In this list you can enter part numbers and compare the entered quantities of useable parts with the parts actually built in the project. To do this, you transfer the parts from the parts management into the device list. Parts may occur repeatedly in the list. You can structure the device list by adding descriptions such as part section and device description.

The device list exists independently of the schematics, but belongs to the project. The part numbers in the device list are not accounted for in the bill of materials for the project. The purpose of the device list is the monitoring of parts built into the project and not, however, the definition of project parts. Project parts are managed in the Bill of materials - <Project name>.

Devices can be placed on the schematic from the device list. Moreover, the export and import functions of the list provide a simple means of data exchange.

Module parts and assemblies

Module parts, i.e. parts used within modules, are not accounted for in the device list. Only the parts actually describing the module itself appear in the device list.

Assemblies can appear broken down in the device list. The relationship to the original assembly is lost in the device list and cannot be visualized.

In the case of part selection, assemblies are broken down according to the default settings (Project data > Parts / Devices > Bill of materials navigator > Popup menu > Settings). Assemblies are not broken down when placed.

Check project

All parts entries in the device list showing a negative reserve are individually executed in the project check. Parts that exist in the project but are not in the list are not included in the project check.

Synchronization with preview

In the graphical preview, (View > Graphical preview) of the device list and part selection, the symbol or macro allocated to the appropriate part, and which will be placed, is displayed.
