A net definition point is used to specify the properties of a net, e.g. the net name. You can also define net-based connections here.
Preconditions:
- You have opened a project and are viewing a page in the graphical editor.
- You have a license for the "Net Based Wiring" add-on.
- Select the menu items Insert > Net definition point.
The symbol for the net definition point hangs on the cursor. - Click in the schematic to place the net definition point.
- In the Properties <...> dialog, enter the net properties in the Net definition tab.
- In the Net connections tab, define the connections within the net.
- Click [OK].
The properties are assigned to the connections defined in the net definition point.
Tips:
- A user setting (Options > Settings > User > Graphical editing > Connection symbols) allows you to stipulate that the Specify targets property on the connection symbols of the associated net are to be automatically deactivated when a net definition point is inserted.
- You can insert multiple net definition points at the same time by holding the left mouse button down and pulling the cursor over multiple autoconnect lines. At each autoconnect line intersected, a net definition point is then placed.
