Tab Address formats

In this tab you define the format of the PLC addresses. Separate address formats are possible for digital and analog inputs and outputs.

Overview of the main dialog elements:

Address formats group box

In the individual fields you can specify separate address formats for digital and analog inputs and outputs. Click [...] to open the Format of PLC address dialog, and there define the format.

Separate address range for inputs and outputs:

This check box can only be activated if the address formats of the inputs and outputs are the same. The formats for digital and analog PLC connection points may however differ.

If this check box is activated, separate address ranges will be used for PLC inputs and outputs. Every PLC connection point must have a unique designation, i.e., if the address "A001.0" exists, then the address "E001.0" can no longer be assigned.

If this check box is not selected, the same address range will be used for PLC inputs and outputs. In this case, the addresses are additionally differentiated using their prefix, i.e., addresses with identical byte and bit address may occur within one PLC, e.g. "A001.0" and "E001.0".

Tip:

If the check box is deactivated, you can determine a separate address range for the outputs of PLC cards which have both inputs as outputs by assigning the Address range 2 property. The property is entered on the "PLC box" tab of the property dialog.
