Additional length

User interface / operation

The additional length is a value that supplements the length of a connection from the source to the target. It is specified for connection point patterns at the connection point positions and together with the X, Y and Z position determines the length of a connection.

When routing connections without additional length, the result is always a perpendicular wire course. By entering the additional length factors are considered like the penetration depth of the connection into the connection point and a length tolerance to avoid kink and bending positions during the determination of the length. This way realistic mounting is possible, in particular for cable and tube connections (for example reinforced hydraulic tubes).
