Predefining Block Properties

Block properties can be predefined for symbols and projects.

If you assign a Block property [n] to a function and a format is not entered for either the function or the symbol, then the program uses the relevant format property that has been entered for this function category in the project.

If you enter a format for the function, then it will be used.

Predefinition for symbols

The indexed Block property: Format [n] property is available for symbols. Here you can predefine a format to be used when inserting the symbol into the project.

If you assign a Block property [n] to a function and no format is entered for the function, the program can see from the symbol whether a format with the appropriate index is entered for the Block property: Format [n] property and then uses this format.

If you enter a format for the function, this will be used instead of the format specified for the symbol.

Predefinition for projects

Indexed formats for block properties are available for projects. One (indexed) format property each exists for different function categories, for example Block property: Format (interruption point), Block property: Format (terminal), Block property: Format (PCT loop), etc.

Tip:

Define the format for a specific function category initially at a concrete function in the project. To, for example, specify the format property Block property: Format (terminal), define the Block property: Format property at a terminal. At a function the existing values are also displayed for the properties in the Format: Block property dialog. This way it is easier to find and select the desired properties. Then copy the format defined this way into the format property for the project and, if necessary, delete it at the function.

Predefinition of replacement texts

Using the Block property: Replacement text project property, you can define up to ten tables for replacement texts (via the index). You can use these tables to replace the values of block properties: When editing block properties you can use the dialog Format: Block property to select the table with the replacement texts to be used for a property. The values of the selected property are then compared to the texts defined in the table and replaced accordingly.

Using the Properties formatted: Replacement text form property, you can define up to ten tables for replacement texts (via the index) to be used for forms. You can use these tables to replace the values of these properties when creating reports of forms that contain placeholder texts with formatted properties: When editing placeholder texts, you can select the tables of replacement texts to be used for a property in the dialog Format: Block property. The values of the selected property are then compared to the texts defined in the table and replaced accordingly.
When creating reports of forms priority is given to the tables defined in this form property. If the selected table is not defined in the form property, the table of the same name will instead be used from the Block property: Replacement text project property.
