Change the status flexibly

The status of a redlining can be changed to any desired status. Users are no longer bound to a specific sequence when assigning the status.

Visibility of greenlinings

When you create a greenlining, you can decide who can see the greenlining. You can mark the greenlining as "Public" or as "Private".

New settings

You can define personal as well as global settings for redlinings and greenlinings.

Extended toolbar

The drawing tool for redlinings and greenlinings has been revised. More drawing tools are available for greenlinings.

Share projects with teams

Projects can not only be shared with another user, but also with entire teams.

Available shortcut keys

You can use shortcut keys to use the basic functions of eVIEW. Further information is available here.

Faster publication of projects

Projects are published faster from eMANAGE in eVIEW. All available project languages are now published consecutively – starting with the display language relevant for you.

Augmented reality

The "Augmented Reality" function has been added in the "3D" section. You can place and view parts in your immediate environment using augmented reality.

3D view

The 3D view has been improved.

User-friendliness

Sometimes the browser is hidden while working with eVIEW. The navigation elements of the browser are then available directly in eVIEW in the workspace. With this, you can navigate back and forth or update eVIEW.

Delete project

If you now delete a project in eVIEW, the backup file (*.zw1) remains in eMANAGE. Further information is available here.

Full-text search

You can use the full-text search to search for terms within a project.

Drag & drop

Change the status of your redlining by dragging and dropping the redlining in the status overview.

Create a link to a project page

Create a link to individual pages in your project and send it to other users. To do this, open the pop-up menu by right-clicking on the project page and select the corresponding entry.

Show and hide redlinings

Redlinings can now be shown as well as hidden in the browser.

User-friendliness

The user interface has been improved.

Updating redlinings and greenlinings

Each time you scroll to a new page in the project, the project and thus all redlinings and greenlinings are updated. This means that notes made by other users in the meantime will now be visible to you.

Renaming permissions for projects

The permissions you can assign when sharing a project have been renamed. You can select between the following types of permission:

• Edit
• Edit (restricted)
• View

New roles "User" and "Guest"

In the user management of ePULSE, the roles "User" and "Guest" have been defined for eMANAGE and eVIEW in addition to the roles "Admin" and "Designer". Further information is available here.

Removed from EPLAN Platform

The "Offline view" function is now only available via the browser and no longer in the EPLAN Platform.

In-app help

eVIEW provides help directly in the app to support you at any time while working with eVIEW. Getting started tours and tooltips help you to better navigate eVIEW and get to know workflows. You can recognize tooltips by the small question marks in the app.

Fixed: Multiple, consecutively placed white spaces were removed from schematic pages.

These are now retained.

Languages

eVIEW is now available in Portuguese (Brazilian), French, Japanese, Italian and Spanish.

ZW1 upload while adding a project

When you add a project via the EPLAN Platform to eVIEW or eVIEW AR, a backup file (*.zw1) is uploaded in eMANAGE in parallel. After the upload in eMANAGE an image of the project is automatically generated and published for eVIEW.

This way you can use the functional scope of eVIEW, but not carry out any direct modifications of the backup file (*.zw1). eMANAGE is available to you for managing and updating the backup file (*.zw1).

In eMANAGE you can control access to the backup file (*.zw1): You can share the project with other users, assigning rights that define the scope of action for the project and enable collaborative editing.

If you publish a project via eMANAGE in eVIEW, an image of the project is created here as well and the backup file (*.zw1) is not published. Publishing via eMANAGE in eVIEW AR is not possible. This can only be done via the add-on.

Please note that the adding of a project in the EPLAN Platform can vary depending on the version, see Add project.

Users of eVIEW AR have to download the current update of the add-on. Learn here where you can download the add-on and how to install it.

Fixed: It was possible that new project versions could not be added.

Support of WebKit browsers

The settings for the page output are now also supported by browsers based on WebKit. You get the best performance when zooming in a colored page output.

New sorting

Layout spaces are sorted alphabetically.

Logo change

The EPLAN logo in the header has been replaced by the eVIEW logo. If you click on the eVIEW logo, you will no longer be directed to the ePULSE dashboard, but to the eVIEW project overview.

Display of the role

The "Admin" role is now displayed above the user name in the header.

Call up notifications

Access your notifications by clicking the bell icon in the eVIEW header.

Browser compatibility

eVIEW no longer supports Internet Explorer. Use one of the following browsers instead: Microsoft Edge, Chrome or Firefox.

Linking to older project versions

With the Copy link button you can copy the link to the project into your Clipboard. Through this link you always reach the most current version of the project.

If you link to an older version of the project, you have to manually add a further parameter to the copied link. If you supplement the link or the URL with &project_version="2.0", you are forwarded to Version 2.0 of your project.

New URL

eVIEW can now be accessed at the following URL: https://eview.epulse.com/

Changes in the user interface

The modified user interface allows you to share projects faster with other users and to invite new users to your organization.

Selecting redlinings

If you click on a redlining in the selection area, eVIEW highlights - if it exists - the corresponding first redlining element and jumps to the corresponding schematic page in your project.

If you are already on a schematic page on which a redlining element of the selected redlining is located, the corresponding redlining element is selected in the property window.

Offline view

The "Download" function has been replaced by the "Offline view" function. You now have the possibility to make the project available offline. Additional information is available here

New function

You can now mark all redlinings as "read" simultaneously. Individual redlinings can be marked as "unread" anytime.

Confirm deletion

If a redlining consists of at least one redlining element or if the description of the redlining has been changed, deleting the redlining must be confirmed in an additional dialog.

Changed buttons

The icons of the buttons for filtering, for adding projects and for creating new redlinings have been replaced with new icons.

Changed button positions

The buttons that you use to browse through schematic pages are now located in the top toolbar.

New drawing tool "Check mark"

The toolbar has been supplemented with the "Check mark" drawing tool. To this purpose click the corresponding icon in your toolbar and set the check mark with a click in your project.

Then click, hold and drag the cursor to change the size of your check mark.

ePULSE Management Center

The ePULSE Management Center is now part of eVIEW.

Display of unread redlinings

Unread redlinings are not only displayed for complete projects but also for folders contained in them. To provide a better overview unread redlinings are only displayed when folders are closed.

Restricted editing of redlinings

Only the creator of a redlining can edit their redlining including redlining elements and change the status from "Draft" to "Review". The describing function for a redlining can still be used by multiple users.

Reason for the restrictions were conflicts and corresponding data loss during the editing of redlining by multiple users.

Modified process

During adding no distinction is made anymore between adding a new project or a project version.

Notification via e-mail

When a new project version is added, all users with whom the project has been shared receive an e-mail.

Losses when renaming schematic pages

As soon as you change the name of a schematic page, redlinings or greenlinings are not displayed on this schematic page anymore but are still listed in the respective overview. The missing redlinings and greenlinings are now pointed out to you in the overview.

Create folder

If you work with eMANAGE, you can create folders as well as subfolders for projects. They are displayed in eVIEW in the page overview of a project and in the breadcrumb trail.

User-friendliness

eVIEW now remembers the last project selected by you and identifies it when the app is opened again.

Fixed: Problems occurred during the upload of a project with large layout spaces.

Information when project pages are missing

The information is now displayed if a page of your project was not found in a project version.

The Designer

The eVIEW role "User" has been renamed to "Designer" in user management.

Upload projects

Projects can be uploaded into empty folders created in eMANAGE.

Share projects restrictedly

If you work with eMANAGE, you can specify up to which date a project is to be shared with another user (beta version). eVIEW supports this functionality and removes your access to the respective project after the defined time period has expired.

The expiration is not shown in eVIEW and can only be seen and edited by eMANAGE users.

New view of your projects

Your projects are now shown in a tree view.

Folder view

Folders and subfolders created in eMANAGE are now also shown in eVIEW. Note that you cannot edit these folders in eVIEW. You can also not create new folders in eVIEW. These functions are only possible in eMANAGE.

Furthermore, projects in eVIEW are not only identified by the project name but via paths as well.

Download projects (Beta function)

You now have the possibility to download multiple projects. A downloaded project contains schematic pages, layout spaces, devices, redlinings and greenlinings. In a downloaded project you can neither edit, delete nor change the status of existing redlinings or greenlinings. Furthermore you cannot create new redlinings or greenlinings.

If you have a downloaded project in your project list and want to work online again, you have to sign in into ePULSE again.

Display of the representations improved

You can now have representations for a device displayed in a detailed overview and navigate more easily through your representations. To this purpose right-click the corresponding device in the schematic in order to open the popup menu. When you click Representations, a detailed overview is opened in the selection area of your devices.

Or click directly in the selection area of your devices in order to have the representations of the device displayed in the detailed overview.

Improvement of the performance

The performance of schematic pages with several greenlinings has been improved.

User-friendliness

The user interface of eVIEW has been improved.

Notification of the storage capacity

A message is issued to the user as soon as the maximum storage capacity has been reached while a backup file *.zw1 is being added.

New drawing tool

The drawing tool Appendix is available In the toolbar. This can be used to upload the image files (*.png / *.jpeg) into the schematic. The camera function is only supported for tablets.

Project owner

eVIEW supports the concept of a project owner. The project owner is no longer listed in the list of users.

User-friendliness

The user interface of eVIEW has been improved.

Fixed: It was not possible to view all elements of a redlining in the EPLAN Platform because a scroll bar was missing.

Installing eVIEW on your end device

You have the possibility to install eVIEW on your end device. To do so, open eVIEW in the Chrome browser and click on the appropriate button in the address bar. A link for eVIEW is created on your end device.

User-friendliness

The user interface of eVIEW has been improved.

Displaying projects in eMANAGE

When you upload a project from the EPLAN Platform to eVIEW, it will now also be displayed in eMANAGE.

Modification of the user interface

The user interface was modified in line with the ePULSE design policy.

Delete redlining

Redlining elements can be deleted via an icon in the property options of the redlining.

Fixed: When you moved the cursor on the Export button, the button was hidden.

Fixed: A selected redlining, redlining element or greenlining could not be displayed correctly when you zoomed into the schematic.

User-defined properties

eVIEW supports user-defined properties in the parts management. This functionality is available as of EPLAN Platform 2.9 Update 1.

Display of e-mail addresses

In the list of users with whom you share the project their respective e-mail address is now listed in addition to their name.

Improvement of the scaling of redlinings

Redlinings from eVIEW are scaled correctly in the EPLAN Platform.

Improvement of the performance

The performance during the usage of several greenlinings has been improved.

User-friendliness

The user interface of eVIEW has been improved.

Browser compatibility

The Microsoft Edge browser is not yet supported by eVIEW. A warning message is displayed as soon as eVIEW is displayed in this browser.

Notification of a new version

If you open an older version of an EPLAN project or if a new version of a project was uploaded, a message is displayed in eVIEW.

Colors optimized for red-green visual impairment

The colors for page and device symbols have been improved in the corresponding overview. Page types are now easier to differentiate for people with a red-green visual impairment.

Notification of status change "Removed"

When you assign the status Removed to a redlining, the author of the redlining will receive an e-mail notification.

Drawing polygons

Drawing a polygon has been simplified: As soon as you place the third corner point, a circle appears on the first corner point. When you click in this circle, the polygon closes automatically.

Commenting on status changes for redlinings

You can comment on status changes for redlinings. Create a redlining, click the Change button and select a status for the redlining. As soon as you select a status, the comment field appears.

Marking a redlining as "unread"

You can now manually mark a redlining as "read" or "unread".

As soon as a user creates a redlining, it is displayed as "unread" in the redlining selection area. When you click the redlining, the unread mark disappears. You can restore it anytime and mark the redlining as "unread".

Switching device representation

When you select a device, you can represent this device in different ways and switch between the representation types. You can either switch the representation type in the properties sidebar, via the popup menu or via the report pages.

This functionality is available as of EPLAN Platform 2.8 Hotfix 3. You may need to upload the project again.

Improvement of the redlining and greenlining functionality

Redlinings and greenlinings can now be edited irrespective of the zoom level. The size of the corner points for scaling redlinings and greenlinings remains unchanged.

Selecting a color scheme for schematic pages

You can modify the color scheme for schematic pages. Choose between the following color schemes: Color, Black and white or Grayscale. Images are also adjusted according to the selected color scheme.

Marking pages as favorites

Using the star icon, you can mark pages as favorites and filter your project by this criterion. Your favorites are independent of project versions, which means that if you upload a more recent version of the project, your favorites are retained.

Create a new organization

You can create new organizations in eVIEW. To do so, go to your account settings and click Create new organization.

Improvement of the 3D preview

The 3D preview for layout spaces has been improved. You can now easily zoom and rotate the layout space.

Correlation ID

A correlation ID is displayed in some error messages. By means of this ID, problems are easier to track. For example, this correlation ID is displayed when problems occur during the upload of a project (*.zw1).

Modifiable selection area

The width of the page and device selection area as well as of the redlining and greenlining selection area can be modified individually.

Navigation bar in EPLAN Platform

The navigation bar is now also displayed in the EPLAN Platform. This way you can switch between the project overview and the redlining overview.

Add backup files

It is possible to add a backup file (*.zw1).

Online help

You can access the online help via the Help button.

Open project

When you open a project, the last page opened is displayed.

Modifying the comment

You can modify the comment.

Displaying additional properties

Additional properties for an item are displayed in eVIEW: attributes and free properties as wells as properties that depend on the part type.

These additional properties are available when uploading a project as of EPLAN Platform Version 2.8 Hotfix 3.

Fixed: Due to a changed URL for the ePULSE homepage, problems may occur when a project from EPLAN Platform Version 2.8 Hotfix 2 is added.
