Activating the license after an update

After updating the license to the new Eplan version, you can activate it. Use the license software that belongs to this Eplan version to this purpose. The corresponding license software is included in the installation package of the Eplan version or can be downloaded from the Eplan Cloud in Downloads.

ClosedActivating a Single License after an update

If you are using a Single License and have already installed the new Eplan version on your computer, the associated Eplan License Client version was installed automatically in the process. Otherwise you can download it from the download area and install it manually via Setup.exe.

After you have updated the license for the new Eplan version, you must still activate the Single License on your computer:

  1. Request the new Entitlement ID. More
  2. Activate the Single License:

ClosedActivating a Concurrent License after updating the EID

If you are using a Concurrent License, update the Eplan License Manager (ELM) to the new version, if required.

You have the following options to do this:

  1. Recommended: Only update the necessary files by running the ElmDataUpdate.exe from the installation package of the current Eplan License Manager version on your server before activation.
  2. Update the Eplan License Manager completely by running the Setup.exe from the installation package of the current Eplan License Manager version on your server.

Note on Eplan License Manager Version 2026

Eplan License Clients up to and including Version 2025 cannot be connected to the new Eplan License Manager, therefore note the following sequence when updating to Version 2026:

  1. First upgrade the Eplan License Clients on all computers on your network to Version 2026.
  2. Only then upgrade the Eplan License Manager to Version 2026.

Precondition:

All borrowed licenses have been returned or the expiration date of the borrowed licenses has already expired. Only then can the new Concurrent License be activated.

After you have updated the license for the new Eplan version, you must still activate the Concurrent License on your computer:

  1. Request the new Entitlement ID. More
  2. Activating the Concurrent License:

    3. If you are using bundles, update these bundles or add the new modules to these bundles after the Concurrent License has been activated.

  3. Always end the activation by clicking Update service.

ClosedActivating a dongle (Single License) after updating

If you are using a dongle, you have to perform an activation of the new Entitlement ID on all computers (max. 3).

  1. In the Eplan Cloud, request the new Entitlement ID in Downloads. Read more
  2. Computer 1

    3. Perform an activation on the computer on which you already used the old Entitlement ID and enter the new Entitlement ID.

    When you specify the old Entitlement ID, the information that a new Entitlement ID is available is displayed during the first-time activation.

    The old Entitlement ID is deactivated when the new Entitlement ID is activated the first time.

    Note - return

    With the first activation of the new Entitlement ID, the old Entitlement ID is locked for further activations and returns.

    If you want to perform a return of the license after the first activation of the new Entitlement ID, you have to use the new Entitlement ID to this purpose. In the case of computers where the license was previously only activated with the old Entitlement ID, the new Entitlement ID first has to be activated, after which you can perform a return with the new Entitlement ID.
