Roles and permissions
In the user management, you can assign roles to users in your organization. Each of these roles has certain rights and limitations for the product. This is how you influence the functionality of the product. Roles can only be assigned by the main administrator or by a user with the "Manage" role .
If Unassigned is selected, the product is not displayed in the dashboard or the Cloud menu and is therefore not available to the user.

Roles and functions for user management
Refer to the table to see which roles can be assigned in the company organization for the user management and which functions are available to you with these roles.
There are two roles for the user management that come with certain rights and restrictions. The following roles are available to you (beginning with the role with the most rights):
- Main administrator
- Manage

The "Main administrator" role
The main administrator is the administrator of a company organization or organization. He has the possibility to invite additional users to the organization in the user management and can assign these users roles for individual products. The main administrator also has the option to relinquish their role as main administrator to another member in their organization.
Additionally, the main administrator can assign the role "Manage" to other users in the organization for user management.
The main administrator is identified by this icon .
Note
Do not mistake the main administrator of an organization with the "Admin" role of a product.
Example
- The main administrator can assign the "Manage" role to User 1 for user management.
- The main administrator can assign the "Admin" role to User 2 for eView.
- User 2 already has the "Designer" role for eBuild.
The "Manage" role
Users with the "Manage" role have access to the user management of an organization and can assign roles to other users. The "Manage" role can be assigned either by the main administrator or by another user with the role "Manage".
The difference between the main administrator and a user with the "Manage" role is that users with the "Manage" role can be removed from an organization, a main administrator cannot. To remove them from an organization, the main administrator must first hand over their role to another user.
Example
- The main administrator has assigned the "Manage" role to User 1 for user management.
- Based on the "Manage" role, User 1 can assign the "Admin" role to User 2 for eView.
- User 2 already has the "Designer" role for eManage.
Note
Eplan creates a company organization, depending on the customer number, which is then activated by a user.

Roles in the Data Portal
Only the "User" role or no role can be assigned for the Data Portal. If no role is selected, the user no longer has access to Data Portal and the part request.

- Designer
- User
