If you select the popup menu Update macro for a macro box or select the popup menu item Update macros in the macro navigator, the new dialog Update macros is opened for you.
If you select the "Default" scheme at this point, the update is carried out as in the past. Graphical information such as property arrangements or formatting originate from the macro and are thus correspondingly modified, while logical information is maintained during an update. If other settings are desired, click the […] button next to the Settings field and branch into the new dialog Settings: Update macros.
Benefit:
Use the new settings to adjust the update of macros to your requirements. When updating inserted macros comprehensive modifications such as the exchange of components or the transfer of logical information are now also possible.
If the Perform assignment preferably graphically check box is selected, the functions of a macro to be updated are determined on the basis of their position in the macro. You can use this to exchange a component at one point in the macro against a component with a different function definition (for example terminal against plug). The device tag remains the same.
If the Keep DT only check box is selected, logical information (connection point designations, function texts, changed symbols, assigned parts) from the macro file is also transferred during the update in the inserted macro. Only the device tags - also those of the interruption points - remain.
If you activate the Assign value sets again check box, the last-selected value sets are assigned to the inserted macros during the update in the project. This is of interest if the assigned value sets in the project are not retained during the update because of modifications in the macro (for example major design changes or further placeholder objects).
