The term "conductor" indicates part of a cable. A conductor is an integral element of a cable and can't be identified without the entirety of the cable. Since cables can also contain connections other than conductors (e.g., optical fibers or tubes), the more general term "Cable connection" (see Cable connections) is used in EPLAN.
