P005044: Same connection designation within different potentials or pipings

Cause

In the schematic or in the P&I diagram there are at least two connection designations on connections to which different potentials or pipings are assigned.

This message may be output for the "Electrical engineering" and "Process engineering" trades for several reasons. These are explained below with reference to the following examples:

Reason 1 (electrical engineering)

A connection section was separated from the original potential after potential-oriented connection numbering. The separated connection thus receives a different potential while retaining the same connection designation.

Reason 2 (electrical engineering)

Potential transfer to a function within the connection is interrupted.

Reason 3 (process engineering)

Potential transfer to a function within a piping is interrupted.

Solution

Regarding option 1

  1. Locate the relevant connection in the schematic using the Go to (graphic) function from the popup menu in the Message management dialog.
  2. Add the missing connection symbol (an angle in example 1).

Regarding options 2 and 3

  1. Locate the connections with the same designations in the schematic or in the P&I diagram by using the functionalities Go to (graphic) and Go to 2nd coordinate,, which the popup menu of the Message management dialog offers you.
  2. Call the property dialog of the function placed between the connections of the same name and bring the Symbol / function data tab to the foreground.
  3. Click the [Logic] button.
  4. In the Connection point logic dialog of the function, check the Transfer potential to property at the function connection points. If the transfer is interrupted, i.e., no connection point numbers are entered, add these numbers to the relevant fields.


If required, start a new check run.
