Cause

You used a non-permitted character when entering the device tag.

Solution

Possibility 1

1. Select the following commands: Tab Master data > Command group Symbols > Identifier sets.
2. Check the Suggested identifiers dialog to see which character was entered for the selected function definition.
3. When entering the Device tag, use the identifier characters you see here.

Possibility 2

If the DT still shows the incorrect character, you have to create a corresponding identifier assignment.

1. In the Suggested identifiers dialog call up the popup menu item New.
2. Create a name for the new identifier set and enter the identifier for the corresponding function.
3. Then synchronize the master data of the project (command path: Tab Master data > Command group Synchronize > Synchronize project). This step is mandatory.
