- File > Settings > User > Graphical editing > 2D. In the Color settings group box, click [...] in one of the fields.
- You have opened a project. You have inserted or selected a component, a graphical element, or a text and have opened the properties dialog. Or you have selected a function in one of the project data navigators and opened its properties dialog. Switch to the Display or Format tab (depending on the selected object), and in the Color field, click [...].
In this dialog you select a color from a predefined color palette. The color selection provides either all 256 colors or a reduced selection (32 colors).
When you move the cursor over a color, a tooltip is displayed showing the internal color number and the RGB values (red, green, and blue elements) of the color.
Overview of the main dialog elements:
This button is for the color settings of symbols. Symbols are then displayed as standard in the colors used for the symbol creation and that are entered at the symbol.
This button is available when you have selected a function, component, graphical element, or text.
This button allows the color of an object to be set "From layer". The color number is determined from the layer that the object is assigned to. If you assign a different color to the layer in layer management, the color of the object changes automatically.
Click this button to expand the dialog and make a larger selection of colors available. Or reduce the expanded dialog to the original size with a reduced selection of colors.
32 colors are available for selection in this field. The colors displayed here depend on the color scheme settings for the screen background. If you select a different color scheme, the internal color numbers are assigned different color values, i.e. the displayed colors change.
You have set the color scheme "White". You have drawn a rectangle in the schematic and assigned it the background-dependent color number "0". The rectangle is displayed in black with a white background. Now set the color scheme to "Black". The rectangle is still assigned the color number "0"; but this now represents the color green. The rectangle is thus displayed in green with a black background.
