The start addresses of the PLC box can now be automatically generated by means of the data length entered there. The new Generate start addresses of the PLC cards dialog is available to this purpose.
Benefit:
The error-prone manual entry at the PLC cards becomes obsolete through the automatic generation of the start addresses. The start addresses generated in this way can then be used for subsequent addressing of the I/O connection points.
In order for the start addresses to be generated automatically, the data lengths for inputs and / or outputs must be entered at the PLC cards (properties PLC device: Data length (inputs), PLC device: Data length (outputs) or the corresponding properties for PLC subdevices). In the PLC-specific settings the configuration value "Start address of PLC card" must be also set for the counter in the format of the PLC address.
If you have marked one or more PLC cards in a navigator or a graphical editor, you access the Generate start addresses of the PLC cards dialog via the following commands: Tab Devices > Command group PLC > Start addresses. There you enter the desired start values for the inputs and outputs. By means of these values of the data lengths entered at the PLC cards, the start addresses of the affected PLC cards are determined and are transferred to these.
