At each function, there are two properties for numbering with PLC data:
- Numbered using PLC data
- Continue numbering with PLC data beyond this function.
The property "Numbered using PLC data" shows whether the DT (or the terminal or pin designation) was changed by numbering with PLC data. It is automatically assigned when numbering but can also be assigned manually.
In DT, terminal, or pin numbering, you then have the option of numbering functions with this property, or to exclude them from numbering.
You number the terminals of a terminal strip using numbering with PLC data. Three of five terminals on the strip are numbered because they are directly connected to PLC connection points. Then, you number all five terminals using normal terminal numbering.
If you number the terminals already numbered using PLC data, then all terminals are renumbered and the terminal designations derived from numbering with PLC data are discarded.
If you want to keep the terminal designations derived from numbering with PLC data, you must exclude functions changed during PLC numbering from normal numbering.
If the end of numbering (as specified in the given range) is reached at a function but you also want to number functions attached to that function, you can specify this using the property "Continue numbering with PLC data beyond this function". The settings apply for each group and range. After the function, the same range applies as it did before.
At PLC connection points, there is the additional property "Prevent numbering with PLC data". If this property is set on a PLC connection point, then functions connected to this PLC connection point will not be numbered. The settings apply for each group and range.
