Potentials, signals, and nets can be temporarily highlighted in color to provide a quick overview of their extent. The currently-selected potential, signal, or net is then colored according to the colors you defined in the user settings.
The highlighting of potentials is described in the following section; signals and networks can be highlighted in the same way by means the following commands: Tab View > Command group General > Signal tracking or Net tracking.
Precondition:
You have defined the color to be used to highlight the potential / signal / net in the user settings (File > Settings > User > Graphical editing > 2D in the drop-down list Track potential).
- Select the button Potential tracking in the command group General in the View tab.
- Click a connection symbol or a connection line.
EPLAN searches for the associated potential, and colors this completely (i.e., even across page boundaries). - Click another connection.
The highlighting of the first potential is removed, and the potential associated with this connection is colored. - Deactivate the Potential tracking button.
The highlighting of the potential is removed.
Notes:
- Color highlights for potentials, signals, or nets can only be removed when the connections are active. Please note that the potential data is only written to the connections during a project-wide update of the connections. In the case of a page change, only the connection data is updated.
- Once you have ended the potential, signal, or net tracking by using [Esc] or via the popup menu Cancel action, you must switch the tracking off and on again once (for example by using the following commands: Tab View > Command group General > Potential tracking) before you can highlight a potential, signal, or network in color once more.
