Dialog Properties (<Graphical element>)

In this dialog, you can edit the display properties of graphical elements like lines, circles, rectangles, etc.

Overview of the main dialog elements:

To this purpose the hierarchy levels <Graphical element> and Format are available. These can be opened by clicking the sign.

Here you determine specific settings for the graphical element such as, e.g., coordinate and length entries. Depending on the type of graphical element, one of the following hierarchy levels will be displayed here:

Invisible:

Choose the entry "Yes" from the drop-down list if the element is not supposed to be visible on the schematic page. It is still present in the project, however. In the user settings, you define whether or not invisible elements are to be displayed and / or printed (in a different color).

Line type:

Select the desired line type from the drop-down list.

Notes:

  • There are certain line types which contain additional graphics. These line types are mainly intended for usage in P&I diagrams. If such a line type is determined for a graphical element consisting of arcs or curves, the line type is ignored and the line displayed as continuous line. Whether the line type has been determined directly in the Line type field or via the selected layer does not matter here. All other settings for the line (line thickness, color, etc.) are retained.
  • Concerning the additional graphics (circles, crosses, etc.), fixed values are used. In case of substantial changes (e.g., to the pattern length or line thickness), this can cause these additional graphics to be no longer recognizable. In addition, double lines are only displayed as single lines in the case of very small line thicknesses.

Projection:

This check box is only available for Lines. Select it, in order to specify a projection for the starting and end points (e.g. when drawing center lines). The projection is calculated according to DIN, on the basis of the line thickness and drawn with a length of "12 d" (where d = dashed line diameter (Line thickness)).

Note:

The line's snap points and dimensions are not changed by inserting a projection.
