Cause
Possibility 1
A device that has function templates was placed in the schematic. At least two function templates belong to the same category (e.g. "Electrical engineering: Terminals"), have identical connection point designations, and their properties Subordinate DT / DT ID, Terminal / Pin designation and / or PLC subdevice: Index have identical values.
Possibility 2
A new device that disposes of function templates was created y in the device navigator. At least two function templates belong to the same category (e.g. "Electrical engineering: Terminals"), have identical connection point designations, and their properties Subordinate DT / DT ID, Terminal / Pin designation and / or PLC subdevice: Index have identical values.
Solution
- Open the device navigator.
- Locate the device in the device navigator for both possibilities by means of the functionality Synchronize selection.
- Open the properties of the device and identify the associated part in the part selection by using the Parts tab.
- In the Function templates tab compare for each function template the values of the properties Connection point designations, Subordinate DT / DT ID, Terminal / Pin designation and - in case of PLC connection points - in addition the property PLC subdevice: Index, and note them.
- Close the part selection and the property dialog, and call up the parts management (Tab Master data > Command group Parts > Management).
- In the tree view, go to the part identified and select it.
- Bring the Function templates tab to the front and change the connection point designations that appear more than once on the function templates, so that each function template has a unique connection point designation.
- Assign different values for at least one of the properties Subordinate DT / DT ID, Terminal / Pin designation and / or PLC subdevice: Index. at the function templates.
- Close the parts management and confirm all the messages that follow by clicking [Yes].
- If required, start a new check run.
Note:
Function templates without connection point designations that are assigned more than once do not trigger this message.
