Dialog Import formatting

In this dialog you can manually revise the automatically determined drawing limits.

Overview of the main dialog elements:

Scaling:

If the drawing is larger than the plot frame, a scaling factor is automatically calculated. Use the drop-down list to select the scaling of the page after import:

  • Automatic: The page will be scaled according to the automatically calculated scaling factor. The scaling factor is displayed in the Horizontal / vertical scaling fields, but these cannot be changed.
  • Manual: You can change the automatically calculated scaling factor in the Horizontal / vertical scaling fields.
  • None: The scaling factor has a value of "1" and cannot be changed.

Position:

Use the drop-down list to select the positioning of the page after import:

  • Center: The drawing is positioned in the center of the plot frame.
  • Bottom left: The lower left corner of the drawing is positioned at the point defined by the "Grid offset X / Y" plot frame properties. (This is usually the plot frame origin.)
  • Manual: The lower left corner of the drawing is positioned at the point defined by the values you enter into the Horizontal / vertical position fields.

Horizontal / vertical scaling:

The automatically calculated scaling factor is displayed in these fields. In the case of manual scaling, you can enter the desired decimal values here.

Horizontal / vertical position:

These fields display the coordinate values of the lower left corner of the drawing, according to the selected positioning options. In the case of manual positioning, you can enter the desired decimal values here.

Width / height:

These fields display the calculated values for the width and height of the drawing, according to the selected scaling options. Manual entries in these fields cause the values in the Horizontal / vertical scaling fields to be changed accordingly.

Drawing limits:

Select this option if you would like to revise the automatically determined drawing limits, and then specify the appropriate limit values in the fields.

Keep aspect ratio:

If the check box is selected, the height and width of the pages will be scaled by the same amount, without distortion. Manual entries in one of the Drawing limits fields will also change the other values accordingly.

If the check box is deselected, you can change the Drawing limits fields independently from each other; in this case, distortions are permitted.

Preview graphic:

If this check box is selected, then a graphical preview of the DXF / DWG drawing is displayed using the defined plot frame. This allows you to quickly recognize if you need to change the values for scaling, position, etc.
