Devices

Devices in EPLAN are divided into "general" devices (including motors, fuses, valves, etc.) and "special" devices (including terminals, cables, PLC connection points, black boxes, etc.).

The general devices or components in EPLAN have the following characteristics:

They are inserted using symbol selection.
EPLAN suggests a DT, which can easily be changed at any time.
They can be labeled, and the label can be formatted individually.
They generate automatic connections (autoconnecting).
They are listed in the reports.
The logic of the underlying function can be changed so that the device behaves differently (e.g., with respect to the display of cross-references).
Cross-references are detected automatically and can be displayed.
A device protection can be assigned to functions, connections and devices. The device protection applies in particular to those parts that were assigned to a device.

For the special devices, moreover, there are special editing and reporting options.
