P004018: No actuator at output

Cause

No actuator can be determined at the PLC output during target tracking.

Possibility 1

No function is connected as an actuator at the PLC connection point. This is also the case if, for example, you have created a PLC output in the device navigator but have not placed it yet.

Possibility 2

The Type of signal at the PLC output and / or actuator is set incorrectly for a connected actuator. The target tracking definition might also be missing at a terminal or pin switched to the actuator.

Solution

Regarding option 1

  1. Check whether a function is connected at the PLC output.
  2. If not, insert a function and connect it to the PLC output. Or place the PLC output in the schematic and connect it with a function.
  3. Update the connections.
  4. If required, start a new check run.

Regarding option 2

  1. If an actuator is connected with the PLC output, first double-click the PLC output.
  2. In the Properties <...> dialog, select the Symbol / function data tab.
  3. Click [Logic].
  4. Check the Type of signal property for the PLC output in the Connection point logic dialog. This property must match the function definition! If, for example, you entered a PLC connection point with the function definition "PLC connection point, DO" or "PLC connection point (fluid), DO", the Type of signal field must be set as a "Digital output"!
  5. Also check whether the Type of signal property on the actuator is set to "actuator".
  6. If a terminal or a pin is located between the actuator and the PLC output, also check the Target tracking settings in the Target tracking (PLC) to field for this object.
  7. Update the connections.
  8. If required, start a new check run.
