In this tab you plan the required PLC inputs and outputs for the planning object. You can assign PLC addresses to these inputs and outputs by selecting existing PLC addresses or by creating new PLC addresses. Alternatively you can use the Symbolic address (single component) property to create unique symbolic addresses. The PLC inputs and outputs defined at a planning object can be inserted into an assignment list that can be used for data exchange with PLC configuration programs. When you assign a PLC input or output of a planning object to a PLC connection point, the PLC address and the associated data are transferred to the PLC connection point.

Overview of the main dialog elements:

PLC addresses:

The following columns are displayed in the table:

• Row: Consecutive row number.
• Direction: Specifies the direction of the address (input, output, undefined).
• Data type: The data type specifies the address range. Possible values are, e.g., BOOL, BYTE, WORD, and DWORD.
• Counter: For PLC inputs you determine with this check box whether it is a counter. This information serves the differentiation of the different inputs for building automation.
• Configuration project (indirect): Enter the name of the configuration project for the PLC box to which the PLC connection point belongs here, or select an entry from the drop-down list.
• PLC station: ID (indirect): Enter the station ID for the PLC box to which the PLC connection point belongs here, or select an entry from the drop-down list.
• CPU (indirect): Enter the name of the CPU for the PLC box to which the PLC connection point belongs here, or select an entry from the drop-down list. A CPU is uniquely identified by specification of the CPU name in the form [Configuration project].[Station ID].[CPU identifier].
• Symbolic address (single component): A single component of the symbolic address can be entered at structure segments and planning objects . These single components are linked at the PLC inputs and outputs of the planning objects starting with the top node and displayed in the Symbolic address (pre-planning) property. This procedure allows unique symbolic addresses to be created for the PLC inputs and outputs.
• Symbolic address (pre-planning): Displays the combination of the single components of the symbolic address which were entered at the current planning object and at the superior segments. The content of this field is transferred to the Symbolic address (automatic) property, in as far as it is empty.
• PLC address: Real address of the PLC address. You can enter the address manually or use existing one. In the cell click [...] to open the Select for use dialog. If you select there a PLC address that exists in the project and use existing one, the remaining fields in the table row will be filled with data automatically.
• Symbolic address: The automatic symbolic address is entered here. In the cell click [...] to open the Select for use dialog. If you select there a PLC address that exists in the project and use existing one, the remaining fields in the table row will be filled with data automatically.
• Function text (automatic): Enter the function text for the PLC connection point here.

Toolbar:

Button	Meaning
(Return)	Returns the highlighted PLC address. The highlighted row is removed from the table, but the data of the PLC address remain in the database.
(New)	Generates a new line. The new line is appended to the end of the list. The default values for a new line are taken from the currently-selected line, i.e., its data on direction, data type, etc. are applied.
(Delete)	Deletes the line where the cursor is located, with all its contents, that is, including data, and if necessary renumbers the positions. Multiple selection is possible. Note that the changed data will only be written back to the database after you have clicked [Close] or [Apply].
/ (Move up / down)	Moves the selected rows one entry up or down, if possible.

Popup menu:

The popup menu provides - depending on the field type (e.g. date, integer, multilingual) - the following menu items that are, depending on the situation, available for influencing the table or editing the values in the fields. You can find an overview of these popup menu items in the section Popup menu items.
