Interruption points form cross-references, with two types of cross-references being distinguished:
- Star cross-reference: In the star cross-reference, an interruption point is defined as the starting point by means of the Star source property. All other interruption points of the same name refer to this starting point. A formattable list of cross-references to the other interruption points is displayed at the starting point. You can specify how many cross-references are to be displayed next to each other or one below the other in the project settings in the dialog Settings: Interruption points.
- Chain cross reference: With chain cross-references, the first interruption point refers to the second, the third to the fourth etc., meaning that the references follow from page to page.
You can use the property Display all cross-references to display cross-references to all other interruption points of the same name at an interruption point.
The sequence of the pairing for chain interruption points can be set in the dialog Sort interruption points. In addition, the sequence can be effected by entering a sort code at the interruption points, with the sort code at a star being used to influence the target number.
Each interruption point has a counterpiece. If EPLAN cannot find the counterpiece, this is recognized as an error and entered in the message management.
