In EPLAN, elements in the schematic are assigned to specific layers. The following is possible by means of the layer management:
- The layers influence the visibility in the print and in the graphical editor as well as the properties for the display of the elements assigned to them, such as line thickness, line type, color, font size, etc.
- Certain information can be shown and hidden for printing or the output on the screen.
- You can use layers to enter information in the schematic (for example, comments on the plant status) that are not to be displayed or printed.
- You can show and hide certain elements in the schematic, for example, cable definition lines, terminal strip texts, auxiliary lines from the mechanical design, etc. Using layer management, this hidden information can easily be made visible again and edited.
