Displaying Images or QR Codes of the Part at the Device

At a component in the schematic you already had the possibility in the past to have the data of a part stored at the device displayed as property placements. With the new version you can now also have specific part properties displayed directly at the component as a QR code or image.

The display properties have been extended to this purpose. A sensible application exists, for example, for the part properties Image file and External document: File / hyperlink [1-20]. The image file of an assigned part and/or the hyperlink of an external document at the assigned part can be displayed as a QR code here at the component in the graphical editor by means of corresponding settings.

Benefit:

Images of devices or QR codes with hyperlinks to external documents could already be inserted on a page in the graphical editor beforehand. The display of parts data (images, hyperlinks of external documents) as property placement at the device now allows dynamic customization of the displayed data. When the part is replaced, other images or QR codes with other hyperlinks are displayed at the component.

If you mark a property in the property arrangement of a component and activate the display property Activate alignment box in the table Property / assignment, the representation of the property can be changed either in QR code or in image file. To this purpose the new display property Display is available below the "Alignment box" hierarchy level. The size of the alignment box determines the size of the image or of the QR code in the graphical editor.

If a desired representation (for example "Image file") is not possible for a property of the property arrangement, nothing is displayed.

For "normal" texts, function texts, special texts and placeholder texts, the "Text" value for the "Display" display property cannot be changed.

Different functionalities can be executed for the images or QR codes displayed as property placements. If a QR code is a link to an external document, you can, for example, use the [Ctrl] key to turn the cursor into a hand and open the hyperlink with a click.
