Extensions for Saddle Jumpers

If terminals have a saddle jumper option, neighboring terminals of the same terminal strip are automatically connected with saddle jumpers by default. In the process the "saddle jumper" function definition is assigned to the respective connections. In physical terms, saddle jumper-capable terminals dispose of one or more shafts that can accommodate the metal jumper.

Depending on the "Internal / External" setting of the respective terminal connection point, the saddle jumpers are generated on the internal or external side of the terminal connection point and are displayed in the dialog Edit terminal strip in the columns Saddle jumpers (internal) / Saddle jumpers (external). Two saddle jumper slots are thus displayed in which the saddle jumper connections are located.

As of this version up to five saddle jumper slots can be managed at saddle jumper connections. By means of the new connection property Saddle jumper slot (ID 31163) you can set at a saddle jumper connection in which saddle jumper slot the connection is located.

Benefit:

Detailed terminal modeling is possible through the option to manage up to five saddle jumper slots at saddle jumper connections. The information about which saddle jumper slot the connection is located in can be displayed in the Edit terminal strip dialog and in reports. The Saddle jumper slot property can also be used for external editing.

New connection property "Saddle jumper slot"

The new property Saddle jumper slot (ID 31163) is available at connections and connection definition points. This property is only relevant for saddle jumper connections. You can select either the "Automatic" setting or one of five possible saddle jumper slots by using the drop-down list of this property.

  • The "Automatic" setting is the default setting. This corresponds to the previous behavior. In this case only two saddle jumper slots (for the internal and external sides of the terminal connection point) are managed and the saddle jumpers are generated depending on the "internal / external" setting of the respective terminal connection point.
  • Alternatively you can assign a specific saddle jumper slot to the connection by using the setting "Saddle jumper slot 1" to "Saddle jumper slot 5". The specification of a concrete shaft number has priority over the setting "Internal / external".

Display in the "Edit terminal strip" dialog

In the Edit terminal strip dialog, the saddle jumpers that are connected to the internal / external side of the terminal are displayed graphically in the columns Saddle jumpers (internal) and Saddle jumpers (external) that were already previously available. Now three additional columns Saddle jumper slot 3 to saddle jumper slot 5 can be shown in this dialog.

These columns show the saddle jumpers that are assigned to saddle jumper slots 3 to 5. For saddle jumpers in saddle jumper slots 1 and 2, the columns Saddle jumpers (internal) (for saddle jumper slot 1) and Saddle jumpers (external) (for saddle jumper slot 2) are used.

In the columns Saddle jumpers (internal) and Saddle jumpers (external), a graphic (small dot) indicates whether the terminal disposes of at least one internal / external saddle jumper connection point. This information is not displayed in the additional columns for saddle jumper slots 3 to 5.

Display in reports

In reports such as terminal diagrams, terminal line-up diagrams and terminal connection diagrams there are special properties for generated graphics that are used as jumper graphics in placeholder texts, for example Graphic for saddle jumpers, Graphic for internal saddle jumpers, Graphic for external saddle jumpers.
The new properties Graphic for saddle jumper slot 3 to Graphic for saddle jumper slot 5 are now available in the respective forms for the placeholder element "Terminal" to take the new additional saddle jumper slots into consideration. For saddle jumper slot 1, the property Graphic for internal saddle jumpers is used and for saddle jumper slot 2 the property Graphic for external saddle jumpers.
