Assignment lists can be imported in the Siemens formats *.SDF and *.SEQ, or as ASCII files *.ASC. In addition to this, files with any file name extension can be imported if they conform to the structure rules for assignment lists. The import is always CPU-related. You can import data either in an existing or in a new CPU.
Notes:
- If you want to carry out a pure import (i.e. without overwriting PLC data in the project), import the data into a new CPU.
- When importing into an already existing CPU, a synchronization of the data is performed.
Import assignment list into existing CPU
- Select the following commands: Tab Devices > Command group PLC > Assignment list.
- In the Filter field of the Addresses / assignment lists dialog select a filter for displaying only the addresses of one CPU.
- Select the following commands: Button [Extras] > Import assignment list > Displayed CPU.
- In the Import / synchronize assignment list dialog, click [...] in the File name field.
- Select an assignment list from the Select file dialog.
Note:
The file types offered in the file selection dialog depend on the scheme for the PLC-specific settings assigned to the CPU. This scheme is displayed in the top area of the Import / synchronize assignment list dialog.
- Click [Open].
- Specify the language suitable for the assignment list as well as the additional settings for the import in the further fields of the dialog Import / synchronize assignment list.
- Click [OK].
The addresses in the assignment list are imported according to the project settings.
Existing addresses or symbolic addresses are overwritten according to the setting in the Reference value field.
Changed fields are highlighted by a yellow background. Lines that have been added by the import are not highlighted.
Only the addresses conforming to the address format for digital and / or analog inputs and outputs are imported. If no address format is set (meaning that both fields in the Address formats tab in the dialog Settings: PLC-specific are empty), all the addresses are imported.
Tips:
- Using the Create filter for CPU popup menu item in the table you can automatically generate a filter for the display of the PLC addresses based on the data of the highlighted row. The values of the Configuration project (indirect), PLC station: ID (indirect), and CPU (indirect) properties are used as filter criteria here.
- You can also access the Import / synchronize assignment list dialog via the Backstage view: File > Import > Command group Project data > Project data > Command group PLC > Assignment list > Button [Extras] > Import assignment list.
Import assignment list into new CPU
- Select the following commands: Tab Devices > Command group PLC > Assignment list > Button [Extras] > Import assignment list > New CPU.
- In the New CPU dialog, enter the desired values for the new CPU in the Configuration project, Station ID, and CPU fields.
The drop-down lists show all values that you have previously entered for the same type of function at other places in the project. - In the PLC-specific settings field, select the scheme defining the settings for the address formats. Click [...] to open the Settings: PLC-specific dialog, where you can create or edit a scheme.
- Click [OK].
- In the Import / synchronize assignment list dialog, click in the File name field.
- Select an assignment list from the Select file dialog.
Note:
