- You have opened a project. File > Settings > User > Translation > Parts management (translatable properties).
- Tab Master data > Command group Parts > Management > Button [Extras] > Translation > Settings. Select the Parts management tab.
In this dialog or in this tab you can specify which multi-language fields in the parts management are to be translated. All settings are user-specific.
Overview of the main dialog elements:
All the properties relevant for the translation are listed in this field. If the check box in front of the property is activated, the property is translated in the next translation run.
Allow any entry for texts not to be translated:
If you use the EPLAN rights management, you can specify that certain user groups can only enter texts that already exist in the dictionary.
If this check box is activated, multilingual texts that are excluded from translation can be entered at any time irrespective of the rights management. This setting also applies to the user-defined part properties.
If this check box is deactivated, the restriction specified in the rights management applies for all multilingual texts.
Use this button to convert texts that are excluded from the translation, but for which a translation text is nevertheless entered, into language-neutral texts. Once you have clicked the button, a prompt is displayed. The following options are available:
- [Yes]: All texts excluded from translation are converted into language-neutral texts. Already existing translation texts are removed.
- [No]: Only texts for which an empty translation text has been entered are converted into language-neutral texts.
- [Cancel]: No texts are converted.
