The Part navigator dialog is a dialog designed for selecting components in the workspace / workdesk or symbols in the nailboard. It is opened when placing Library items or adding bookmarks.
Note:
The part navigator's title bar differs according to environment.
Part navigator toolbar
In the top part of the Part navigator dialog there are several control elements for managing libraries and selecting parts / symbols.
- (Update): Synchronizes the part navigator content with the current state of the active library.
- (Add bookmark): Adds the currently selected parts to the Bookmarks panel. Available only if the Part navigator dialog is launched for placing a part.
- <Part name search>: This field allows for searching all part names and part numbers for the entered string. Searching can be started by clicking the (Start part name search) button or pressing the [Enter] key.
- Tags: In this drop-down list you can select a tag and start searching for the items which have the tag assigned by clicking the (Start part name search) button. The (Reset active query) button cancels all filters.
- Library: In this drop-down list you can select another library, if available; the system then automatically switches to it.
Note:
The Library drop-down list contains the active libraries determined in the project-specific General info panel.
Categories
This section displays the categories of the active library in a hierarchical tree structure. The content differs according to the following situations:
- If the part navigator is launched when placing a part or 2D symbol, only the categories for the selected item type are displayed.
- If the part navigator is launched when adding bookmarks, all categories (except for 2D symbols, drawing headers, and drawing borders) are displayed.
- If a query is launched within the part navigator, only the categories whose parts fulfill the query criteria are displayed.
Parts list
This list, by default in the center of the dialog, displays the complete content of the currently selected category (unless narrowed down by a query). It is the point where parts and symbols can be selected for further actions like placement in workspace / workdesk or adding as bookmarks.
The appearance of the parts list can be customized. It is possible to determine individually for each part type which columns are to be displayed or hidden and also their order: Right-click on the header to open the Select visible properties dialog. Here you can select the part type from the top drop-down list and in the list below determine the display of certain properties by activating / deactivating the corresponding check boxes. Select a row and use one of the Move <direction> buttons on the right to determine the sequence of the properties to be displayed.
Preview
This section serves for displaying a graphical representation of the selected part / symbol (as determined in EPLAN Harness proD Library).
User-defined properties
This tab displays the user-defined properties determined for the selected part / symbol in EPLAN Harness proD Library.
Variants
Note:
This section is only available when the part navigator is launched within the nailboard / cable drawing environment.
This section allows for selecting a variant of 2D objects (since it is possible to create several 2D windows for one library object in EPLAN Harness proD Library).
Query
This section allows for defining and launching simple queries to filter the library content. Each row of the table stands for one condition, and each condition consists of the name of a property, the logical operator, and a value. Names and logical operators can be selected from drop-down lists. The list of available operators depends on the selected property. The resulting query is a conjunction (AND operation) of all the conditions.
