The Electrical options panel allows you to define electrical options (names and descriptions) for the project variants. A combination of these electrical options can be determined for each electrical configuration.
Electrical options can be optionally determined for "electrical" objects within workspaces / workdesks (El. options field in the Advanced section of the properties panel of an object). By specifying electrical options, you can assign an object to an electrical configuration (see also Electrical Configurations).
Let us assume we create a wire harness for a car. Two versions of the car's body are available (e.g. sedan and station wagon). These body versions are called variants. There can also be different levels of equipment (e.g. basic, enhanced, and full). These are called configurations within EPLAN Harness proD Studio. Each equipment level is a configuration of individual units (e.g. ABS, air-conditioning, sound system, etc.), and these are called project options.
