Electrical configurations allow for defining variants. For each configuration you can determine its name, a combination of project-specific electrical options, a number, and a description.
Each of the configurations can be displayed separately within the workspace / workdesk (see the Electrical Configurations topic), and special nailboards and reports can be derived from them. In addition, cable drawings are created from the currently set electrical configuration.
Let us assume we create a wire harness for a car. Two versions of the car's body are available (e.g. sedan and station wagon). These body versions are called variants. There can also be different levels of equipment (e.g. basic, enhanced, and full). These are called electrical configurations within EPLAN Harness proD Studio. Each equipment level is a configuration of individual units (e.g. ABS, air-conditioning, sound system, etc.), and these are called electrical options.
