The backing up and forwarding of projects and master data are important parts of project planning. Using the backup system, you can back up and restore all of the data that you have created. Areas of use for the backup system are:
- External backups
- Long-term data archiving
- Data exchange via diskette / CD / e-mail / network / Internet
Among other features, the following functions are possible via the backup system.
- Backup of one or more projects, with all associated master data. In the process, a descriptive text can be allocated to the backed-up project, containing (for example) the storage location.
- Backup of individual master data (symbol libraries, plot frames, forms, macros, templates, parts data, dictionaries).
- Restoration of backed-up projects. In the process, a check is made to see if the project settings have changed and if data is already present and can be overwritten.
- Zipping and unzipping of projects in the project directory: Projects zipped in the project directory are unzipped when accessed.
- Project archiving.
- Project file offs.
- Sending projects via e-mail. For this purpose, projects can be split into several small data packets, emailed, and then re-assembled.
- View messages generated during the backup or restoration of a project.
