Revision Control

When modifications are made to existing higher-level functions, information regarding the modification must be captured. Using revision control, these changes can be recorded and documented, in which it is possible to access older versions of the project.

In order to perform this, you can "freeze" a particular project state, then compare it with a different project state later. In this way, for instance, you can discover which pages have been changed in order to start a new print process. Or you can place an approval stamp on the changed pages.

Revision control offers you the following options:

  • You have the option of working with change tracking or using the property comparison of projects.
  • With change tracking you generate a revision. The current project becomes the revision project where you continue to work. All the changes in this revision project are logged.
  • With the property comparison of projects, you compare certain properties of the current project with the corresponding properties of a reference project. You can decide which properties will be checked for changes.
  • You can complete projects, i.e. "freeze" the project status, at any time then continue to work in a new revision project.
  • You can generate a copy of the current project status at any time as a reference project.
  • Changes are shown graphically and textually as revision markers in the project.
  • The revision data recorded for a project via change tracking can be edited.
  • The revision states created for a project can be printed in revision overviews. These can either be printed or inserted into the current project as separate report pages.
