Updating the Eplan License Manager

Notes

  • The removal of an existing Eplan License Manager version is not required for updating.
  • Updating the Eplan License Manager does not result in changes to a license that is already activated. Only the Eplan License Manager software is updated.
  • If you dispose of the Primary License Manager and the Standby License Manager in your system environment, you must always install or upgrade the Primary License Manager first.
  • Please allow sufficient time to update the Eplan License Manager and Eplan License Client. During updating of Eplan License Manager Version 2026, the connection to all connected Eplan License Clients must be interrupted for a short period of time.

An Eplan License Manager Version 2026 is not mandatory in order to use the new Eplan Platform Version 2026. The existing Eplan License Manager (at least Version 2025) should continue to be used for existing systems. To this purpose the Eplan License Manager - Configurator has to be terminated and the ElmDataUpdate.exe file from the installation package of the Eplan License Manager Version 2026 has to be executed with administrative rights.

Eplan License Manager Version 2026 communicates solely with the Eplan License Client Version 2026.

Preconditions:

  • Eplan License Manager (ELM Configurator) is installed on a server of your company and has been activated with a Concurrent License.
  • As a local administrator you can access the server on which the software is to be installed or is already installed.
  • You know whether the Failover function is activated in connection with a Standby License Manager. Failover: Basics
  • The Eplan License Manager currently runs fault-free.
  • The firewall and all required ports are configured. Configuring the firewall
  • All Eplan License Client versions have been updated to Version 2026.
